Looking to book a speaker on college admissions? Want a personalized workshop for your members or employees?
We frequently get asked to host workshops for community organizations such as PTA groups, boy/girl scout troops, church youth groups, senior classes or even as an HR benefit for company employees.
We can accommodate daytime, evening, and weekend workshop times.
Typically our workshops run for at least an hour but we can schedule up to half and full day workshops depending on the content and client needs.
Planning the High School Years: Gearing Up for College
College application season happens senior year, but the planning for college starts much earlier. If you have a student getting ready to enter high school it’s not too early to start thinking about the process. In this session we will each year of high school and what students (and their families) can be doing to be as prepared as possible for applying to college broken down into easy to follow step by step directions. Beyond the Ivy League: How to choose the right college for your student
Everyone wants their child to get the best education they can and when it comes to college there are a few places that everyone knows. There are so many lists but what do those rankings even mean? Choosing a college is much more than picking a school. It has to be the right school for your child; where they can flourish but be challenged, have opportunities both inside and outside the classroom, a place that becomes home and helps launch their career. Find out about all the different types of colleges and universities out there and how to choose the one that fits best. Learn what to ask on the campus tour (and what you can ignore), how to compare schools, and how to get the real inside scoop on campus life. Understanding the college process starts here!
Getting in Without Freaking Out: Insider Secrets
What does it take to get into college? Is it really all about the test scores? How many extracurriculars should my child have? Do they really need foreign language? And seriously they need how many volunteer hours? In this session learn how colleges and universities make admissions decisions and how you can hack the system in your favor. Admissions decisions can be complicated but we will pull back the curtain and give you all the secrets the schools don’t want you to know (like how to get college credits in high school for next to nothing!) College admissions can be a game, but you can’t win if you don’t know the rules.

What is FAFSA and when do I fill it out? Where are the best places to find scholarships? What is the difference between grants and loans? One of the biggest concerns about college is how to pay for it. Come find out everything you need to know about financial aid and funding for school including a few insider secrets such as the best kept secret to finding scholarship money, and why you shouldn’t judge a college based on the sticker price.
Personal Branding
We have often heard it’s not about what you know, it’s who you know. And that’s still totally true; the only thing that’s changed is how you met them. In this session we discover why having a person brand is so important to landing internships and being recruited for jobs, and how your child’s love of social media and the internet will make the process of developing a personal brand so much easier. Leave with a blueprint on what it takes to build a strong brand and the individual steps your child can take to start telling their story. Workshop content ranges from 1 hour to half day workshops.

Come to learn everything you need to know about this platform and how to create a profile that will get you noticed by internship locations and employers. What platform is best for what sorts of connections, and what’s the difference between a friend and a follow? A group and a page? A story and a retweet? Why are people so obsessed by social media and how does it affect mental health? If you have ever wanted to learn more about a platform, or just understand what all the fuss is about, bring your questions and don’t miss this session!
Social Media For Business
Is your business interested in leveraging social media marketing to reach the newest demographic of customer, but you aren’t really sure how to get started? Our work with college students has given us a unique insight to this generation and how to best reach them using digital communication. We can walk you through choosing what platform is best for your message, and how to set up your profiles on all of the major platforms. We can also schedule to bring college students to be on hand to offer their advice or critique your current marketing efforts.
